Cardinal Beetle

What a belter, as my dad might also have said. This was hanging out on a bracken frond up in Ashdown Forest and caught my eye from some several metres away.
After help from the Complete British Insects and folk on Twitter, I can confidently claim that it is Pyrochroa coccinea, or the cardinal beetle.
It has two close relatives, one of which may appear tomorrow.
