Ox-eye Daisy

Round these parts there are ox-eye daisies everywhere; huge swathes swamping the central reservations of the A27 and the verges. Our garden too is festooned with their cheery faces bobbing and dancing in the wind. I like them but sometimes have an uneasy feeling that they want to take over the world.
Their Latin binomial, like that of cow parsley, has a lovely ring to it: Leucanthemum vulgare. Another common name is Moon Daisy, which seems nicer. I shall start calling it this from now on.
